Hannover Scorpions (DEL, 2001-2013 )

The TUI Arena in Hannover is a venue for concerts and sporting events as well as major TV productions, such as "Wetten, dass. ". Operator is the Arena Hannover GmbH. The hall is located on the former World's Fair site of EXPO 2000 EXPO Plaza in Hanover.

History

The arena was completed in April 2000, shortly before the opening of EXPO 2000 in June 2000 after 21 months of construction. The construction costs were approximately 70 million euros. During the Expo, the Scorpions played with the Berlin Philharmonic on 22 June 2000 in the arena. In 2001, the arena was the venue for the Ice Hockey World Championship for Men 2001.
