Tuiparasittich

The Tuiparasittich ( Brotogeris sanctithomae ) is a type of Neuweltpapageien. The species is found only in South America.

Appearance

The Tuiparasittich reaches a body length of 18 centimeters, making it as large as the Tovisittich and slightly larger than the Gold Wing Parakeet, which is the smallest species of the narrow -billed Parrots.

The Tuiparasittich similar to the Gold Wing Parakeet much. However, its plumage is overall somewhat more yellowish than this kind addition to the small orange chin patch also includes the Tuiparasittich a narrow orange headband on.

Distribution and behavior

The Tuiparasittich comes in northern Brazil to the south front of the estuary of the Amazon. The birds live mainly swarm example. Their diet consists of fruits, berries, seeds, flowers and nectar. Little is known about the reproductive habits of Tuiparasittichs.
