Tulane Stadium

The Tulane Stadium, officially The Third Tulane Stadium, was a football stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was demolished in 1979 to 1980 due to more modern stadiums available in 1935 for the alignment of college football games and built. The Tulane Stadium was surrounded by Willow Street, Calhoun Streets, the Audubon Boulevard and South Claiborne Avenue.

The stadium was opened in 1925 with a seating capacity of 35,000 seats. In 1957 the capacity was increased to 80 950 people and the stadium got floodlights. The Third Tulane Stadium was built primarily for the Sugar Bowl are home to what it did until 1974. From 1967 to 1974, the Tulane Stadium served as home for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League, where they played more or less unsuccessful. Furthermore, the stadium was the venue of three Super Bowls, Super Bowl IV in 1970, Super Bowl VI in 1972 and Super Bowl IX in 1975. It was the first Super Bowl harboring Stadium, which was demolished, followed in 1999 with the Tampa Stadium until the next one.
