Tullstorp Runestone

The Runestone Tullstorp is south of Västra Vemmenhög in Skivarp in southern Skåne in Sweden. It dates from about the year 1000 AD and was immured long in the old parish church of Tullstorp. As this was in 1840 replaced by a new building and demolished in 1846, landed the stone in the northern cemetery wall before it was erected at its present location. The runes, ornaments and pictures once shone in bright colors.

The inscription reads: KLIBIR OCH ÅSA RESTS DESSA Kummel efter ULF, translated: Kleppe and Åsa made ​​this monument for Wolf. The text is in a snake belt. The central motif is shown above a ship's hull " Large animal ". The stone is located in the cemetery at the end of the main corridor.

The Big Animal

One of the best representations of the "Great Beast" outside Scandinavia can be found on the rune stone of St Paul 's in London. The Runestone Vang (Norway ) also shows the "Great Beast".
