Tully Blanchard

Tully Blanchard ( born January 22, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas ) is a former American professional wrestler, known particularly as a founding member of the famous wrestling grouping Four Horsemen.

Career

Tully Blanchard's father, Joe Blanchard, was a wrestling promoter in the southwestern United States. Thus Tully came very early into contact with wrestling. Blanchard played during his time at Texas State University American football. Among his teammates were with Merced Solis and Ted DiBiase other people who should be making later in the wrestling business a name.

In the promotion of his father's Blanchard initially hired as a referee, Booker and producer, before he himself was an active wrestler in 1975. In the early years he drew attention to himself in particular in the Tag Team Dynamic Duo with Gino Hernandez.

1984 signed him, part of the National Wrestling Alliance Jim Crockett Promotion. There he made with matches against Ricky Steamboat and Dusty Rhodes a name, so he was allowed to the U.S. Heavyweight Title win.

1985 Blanchard was Arn Anderson and Ric Flair inserted into a grouping with Ole Anderson, who mimed Blanchard's cousin. Under the name of The Four Horsemen, they became one of the most successful Stables of all time, whose performances attracted large audiences.
