Tumbes District

Tumbes is one of the 6 districts of the province of Tumbes in Peru. At 158.84 km ² area is home to around 96 646 inhabitants.

Tumbes is bordered to the north by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by the province Zarumilla, on the south by San Juan de la Virgen (district) and to the west by Corrales (district).

The acting mayor of the municipality is called Pio Cuenca ( 2007-2010).
