The Tumtscha (Russian Тумча, Тунтсайоки; Finnish Tuntsajoki ) is a river in the south of Murmansk Oblast in northwestern Russia.

The river emerges as Tuntsajoki in Tuntsa Wilderness Area ( Tuntsan Erämaa ) a few kilometers west of the Russian- Finnish border. From there it flows in a south-southeast direction. He passed the small town Alakurtti. About 16 km before its confluence with the Tumtschosero flows coming from the west Kutsajoki into the river. Previously flowed through the Tumtscha the Tumtschosero. Since the 1960s, the effluent is Kowda on hydroelectric power plant Iowsk dammed so that a lake landscape has been formed, which also includes the Tumtschosero counts. At least from this point the river is called Tumtscha. The last few miles of its run, the flow Tumtscha crossed the border with the Republic of Karelia. The catchment area covers 5240 km ². The total flow length of Tuntsajoki and Tumtscha is 172 km.
