Tumo Turbo

Tumors Turbo ( * February 23, 1970, † 27 October 2008) was an Ethiopian marathon runner.

He was sixth in the discharged as part of the San Sebastian Marathon IAAF World Cup Marathon in 1993. A second place at the Turin Marathon in 1994 followed it the victory at the premiere of the Prague Marathon in the year. He qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, where he came on the 29th place.

In 1996 he won the Houston Marathon and was subsequently nominated for the Olympic Games in Atlanta. He did not reach the goal; for he won the Eindhoven Marathon in the fall and finished second at the New York City Marathon.

The following year he was second in the Lake Biwa Marathon is, with his personal best of 2:09:00 at the World Championships in Athens, he first took the lead, but then gave up. In the autumn he was sixth at the Chuncheon Marathon.

In 1998, he was fifth in the Berlin marathon, and in 2000 he was sixth in Turin and won in San Sebastián.

Tumors Turbo died in 2008 in a bus accident on the road between Addis Ababa and Awassa.
