Tumor-associated glycoprotein 72

CA 72-4 is a tumor marker (threshold value of about 4.6 U / ml in serum), which allows the suspicion of a tumor. CA 72-4 is mainly associated with gastric cancer ( treatment and follow-up ) and ovarian cancer ( second marker), further comprising the esophageal carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma and other tumors. Even with strong inflammatory processes (eg pancreatitis or pneumonia) may be increased these markers.
