Tumu, Libya

Tumu in Libya ( تومو in Arabic) is a border crossing in Munizip Murzuq on the border with Niger. It is located 310 km south of Al Qatrun, the nearest settlement on the way through the Sahara desert in the direction of Madama (Niger ).

The oasis village Tumu consists of a few barracks of the Libyan military, which controls the border. The place is a way station for many migrants from the Sahel, especially from Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Mauritania and Senegal. The border crossing is often closed, so it is necessary that from Niger travelers coming to report in Al Qatrun.
