Tunes is a Portuguese parish in the district of Silves 12.9 km ² and 2560 inhabitants (as at 30 June 2011). The population density is 199 inhabitants per km ².

Some historians believe that the site was originally inhabited by people from Tunis, Tunisia, and hence the name Tunes stirred.

The place is mainly known for its railway station. Here begins the Linha do Sul and strikes the Linha do Algarve. The station is also a stop on the Alfa pendular between Faro and Lisbon.
