Tung Chee-hwa

Tung Chee -hwa GBM (Chinese董建华/董建华, Pinyin Dǒng Jianhua; * July 7, 1937 in Shanghai) is a Chinese businessman and politician. He was the first Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR. He was appointed to this post after the surrender of the city in 1997. In March 2005, he resigned after ongoing protests by the public against the Hong Kong - China policy, and was succeeded by Donald Tsang.
