Tupelo T-Rex
The Tupelo T -Rex were an American ice hockey team from Tupelo, Mississippi. The team played from 1998 to 2001 in the Western Professional Hockey League.
History
The Tupelo T -Rex were founded in 1998 as a franchise of the Western Professional Hockey League. Your first season, the 1998/99 season, they shut on the sixth and last place thus the WPHL East Division. In the following season they improved to fifth place in their division and reached the playoffs for the first time at the President's Cup, in which they, however, already in the first round with 1:2 wins in the best-of -three series at the Lake Charles Ice Pirates failed. The 2000/01 season was the best season in franchise history. After they won the Governor 's Cup as league 's best team of regulälen season, they defeated in the first playoff round, the Corpus Christi IceRays 4-1 victories before the T- Rex in the second round with 1:4 in the late Master Shreveport Mudbugs failed.
When the WPHL was disbanded following the 2000/ 01 season, the Tupelo T -Rex, despite the athletic success is one of only four teams in the WPHL, which did not change in the Central Hockey League, but was released instead. Attempts in later years, but still the CHL or alternatively, the South East Hockey League to connect failed due to financial constraints and contractual disagreements about the arena experience.
