Tupinambarana

Tupinambarana is a river island in the river of Amazon and Uraria in the Brazilian state of Amazonas. With an area of 11,850 km ², it is one of the largest river islands in the world.
Description
The island is largely covered by tropical rainforest and has a low ridge on, it can only be on the water or be accessed by air. On the island is the town of Parintins, which is known by the festival " Bumba - meu -boi ". On the island there are also remains of a settlement from the 1930s, which was built by Japanese settlers in an attempt to grow on the island of jute.
