Tupolev ANT-14

The Soviet Tupolev ANT -14 Pravda (Russian Туполев АНТ -14 Правда ) is a development of three -engine passenger aircraft ANT- ninth It was built only a copy.

Development

The development work on this type were carried out under the direction of Vladimir Mikhailovich Petlyakov, who was then still working in the team of Andrei Nikolayevich Tupolev. It was based in the construction of the four-engined bomber TB-3, from which also the structure was incorporated. The ANT -14 was powered by five 480 hp Gnome -Rhône Jupiter engines. She was designed as a high-wing monoplane in cantilever all-metal construction with Wellblechbeplankung, only the tail was braced. The wing was in three parts and had four bars. The rigid main chassis equipped with two wheels arranged one behind the other.

The trial began on August 14, 1931, was successfully completed. In the next 10 years, the type served as a passenger aircraft for scenic flights and propaganda purposes and upgraded during this time about 40,000 people. A military version was not realized.
