Turgutreis is a small town on the west coast of the Bodrum peninsula in southwest Turkey.

The city was named after the largest rice son of the area, Admiral Turgut. Traditionally, the mandarins and vegetable cultivation was the predominant industry. For several years Turgutreis has been discovered by tourism.

Turgutreis is thanks to its prevailing north west wind ( Poyraz ) for wind surfing and sailing very well suited. The offshore archipelago of small, rugged, towering out of the sea islands and islets as Çatalada is one of the most beautiful views of the Aegean Sea. Conveniently located close to the Greek island of Kos - in an hour with a small transfer boat, but from Bodrum in half an hour to reach by hydrofoil. In the evening horizon Pserimos, Kalymnos and Leros (Dodecanese ) can be seen. Gulet cruising day tours in the archipelago and west to Gumusluk, the ancient Myndos that Brutus offered asylum, east to Akyarlar.

Since 2005, there will be a classical music festival with Turkish and international orchestras and soloists under the open sky.
