Turkish constitutional referendum, 1988

A referendum on constitutional amendments in 1988 in Turkey was held on September 25th of this year. It was about the local elections earlier to hold a year.

The constitutional amendments were rejected by the voters, who voted against it in the referendum with 65 percent; the voter turnout was 88.8 percent.
