Turkish general election, 1946

The parliamentary elections in Turkey on July 21, 1946 were the second multi-party elections in the history of the Republic of Turkey, after the local elections 1930.

In evaluating the circumstances of choice but can not be assumed completely free and equal elections.

There the 465 members of the Turkish Grand National Assembly were elected. From the choice of the ruling CHP emerged victorious. After the parliamentary election Recep Peker was elected to succeed incumbent Sukru Saracoglu prime minister.
