Turmion Kätilöt

Turmion Kätilöt (Eng. The Midwives of Perdition ) is a Finnish electronic crossover band that blends the elements of techno with those of Metals. The texts are in Finnish and English.

Band History

MC Raaka Pee and DJ Vastapallo knew each other from the goth metal band Ancient Drive, in which they were active as keyboard player and guitarist. After the dissolution of the band, they decided to found in 2003 Turmion Kätilöt. Although they recorded shortly thereafter with Master Bates, runq ( Tarot, Étos ) and DQ three other members, but it is they who write the lyrics and music. The end of 2004 was still Spellgoth as the second singer added, the only live singing and is not involved in the albums shots.

Their first album Hoitovirhe (German operator error ), which debuted at number 28 in the Finnish album charts, they released on 20 May 2004 at Ranka Recordings, a sub label Spinefarm Records. They also coupled two singles from: Teurastaja (German butcher ), which reached number 5 in the singles charts, and Verta ja lihaa ( No. 12, dt flesh and blood ), to which so far the only video was shot. In April 2005, the EP Niuva 20, whose title comes from the recording studio away from a mental hospital 20 km appeared. She rose to # 2 on the Finnish charts, and contains three new songs and two live recordings, one of which is the Deep Purple cover Stormbringer at which participated Marco Hietala ( Tarot, Sinergy, Nightwish ) and Tommi Salmela ( Cardiant, Tarot ). On 29 March 2006, the second album Pirun nyrkki appeared (German devil's fist ), named after a puzzle. The album reached number 7 on the charts, the single of the same place 2

After some arguments with the label Spinefarm Records, the band offered their third album USCH! on the website of their label, Raha Records, to download for free. Finally, these arguments could be settled and Turmion Kätilöt was released from the contract with Spinefarm. The video for Mina Määrään (Eng. I rule ) was released for the TV broadcast. And on 13 May 2009 was U.S.C.H! associated with two new tracks as CD on the market and then rose to # 6 on the Finnish album charts.

On 16 October 2010, the single Ihmisixsixsix that precedes the new album Perstechnique, which was released on February 19, 2011 at the Finnish Metal Expo in Helsinki before it even went into international trade on February 23 appeared.
