TuS Helene Altenessen

The TuS Helene 1928 Food is a sports club from the Altenessen.

History

The TuS Helene was founded in 1928. The club was closely linked to the Krupp mines and Helene Amalie. In the 1940s, the club went into the Gauliga Lower Rhine, the then highest German league, on and qualified in 1941 prompt for the final round of the German Cup.

After the Second World War, the club was disbanded and founded in 1945 under the name VfR 1928 food new. In 1950 the return naming TuS Helene eV 1928 Essen. Using the pit closures in the Ruhr faded also the star of the TuS Helene, who in Essen, at best, the number five ( behind Rot-Weiss, Sportfreunde Katernberg, black and white and TuRa 1886 Essen) had.

In the 1980s the club a brief renaissance with three ascents celebrated in succession by the county league to the Association League Lower Rhine, where you spent three seasons from 1983 to 1986. Then the equally seamless descent followed back to the county league.

Early 2000s managed the club after climbs up again in the national league Lower Rhine, but after relegation in 2010 in the District League in 2012 it went back to the county league.

The TuS Helene food plays its home games at the stadium Bäuminghausstraße. The stadium now has an official capacity of 11,000 spectators. In previous years, it even offered 25,000 visitors. The old grandstand is entirely of concrete and waives seats or the like. Left and right of the grandstand are verdant standing at the former career.
