TuS Mayen

The TuS Mayen is a sports club from the Rhineland Palatinate town of Mayen.

History

After the Second World War, the Player of the TuS Mayen in 1963 qualified for the newly founded Rhine Land League, who belonged to the club until 1969. After the resurgence of 1973, the most successful period of the Black - White began. 1974, 1975, 1976 and 2004, the Association for the DFB Cup could qualify, but failed each in the first round of Rapide Wedding, Spf. Schwäbisch Hall, Hertha Zehlendorf and VfB Stuttgart.

1978 missed the TuS Mayen just to qualify for the newly founded Oberliga West. As a master of the Rhineland League but only two years later promoted to the Oberliga. In the following years, the association developed to lift the team. The descents from the top league in the years 1982, 1986 and 1994 were followed by a few years later, the re-emergence in the Oberliga West, who belonged to the club until the next descent in the 2009/10 season. From the season 2010/11 Mayener play in the now sechstklassigen Rhine Country League.

In addition to the football section of the TuS Mayen has, among other things, about -turn, athletics, hockey and tennis teams.

Stadium

The TuS Mayen plays its home games at Nettetal Stadium. The stadium has approximately 5,000 standing room and 450 seats (extension 1, 2007/ 08). A record crowd there was in the DFB Pokal match against VfB Stuttgart in 2004, as 6500 spectators watched the game.

Hockey

When indoor hockey, the department maintains two men's teams. The first men's team plays in the 2007/2008 season as a climber in the big leagues. Also in the field round of TuS Mayen plays in the Serie A, where it is in acute danger of relegation.
