Tutl

Tutl is the leading music label of the Faroe Islands. Head of the company is the composer and musician Kristian Blak. Tutl was founded in 1977 and has its headquarters in the capital Tórshavn.

The term Tutl is Faroese and means " whispering, murmuring ".

The internationally -known musicians, besides Blak itself, among other things, the singer Eivør Pálsdóttir, the songwriter Høgni Lisberg, the Viking metal band Týr, and the punk band Tveyhundrað. Also Teitur Lassen here has its roots.

Typical of the Faroese music scene is their relation to the centuries-old Faroese ballads, but also the Psalms of Thomas Kingo. Dominated in the 19th and especially the 20th century, so could the modern music since the 1980s about the limits of the Faroe Islands also establish the Faroese Faroese literature and visual arts.

Foreign musicians have been published by Tutl, for example, recently the group Sundiver from the Swiss city of St. Gallen.
