Tutupaka

The Tutupaca is an extinct volcano in prehistoric times in the region of Moquegua in southern Peru. Its height is 5,805 meters and its summit has a crest of eternal snow.

It is an easily climbed the mountain, one requires above all a good physical condition for great heights. At the foot of the mountain are still large areas covered with volcanic ash and to find some hot thermal springs. The original cone was blown away for the most part, fragments of which were thrown up into the several kilometers distant region of present-day port city of Ilo.
