Tuvalu is the feature film debut of German director Veit Helmer.

Action

Anton lives and works with his blind father Karl in a dilapidated Art Nouveau indoor pool. Karl is the lifeguard, Anton the wizard. Together with the staff they deceive Martha Karl before a flourishing bathing establishment where they simulate an appropriate soundscape with a tape recorder. One of the few visitors is the former captain Gustav. When that his daughter Eva takes one day in the bathroom, Anton in love with this.

Meanwhile, Anton's brother Gregor is planning the demolition of the swimming pool because he is planning new buildings in the area. To force the closure of the bath, he throws a rock through the fragile ceiling, and hurt by Gustav fatal.
