TVP3

TVP3 was the third main program of the Polish television Polish Television. It was founded under the title TVP Regionalna and included already when first broadcast a substantial amount of entertainment programs, especially films from predominantly Polish production. With the construction of a series of thematic channels, the program concept was resolved in favor of other channels, so there is no direct successor of the program more.

History

The beginning under the name TVP Regionalna

The roots of the program are in the twelve (later 16) regional studios, launched Wieslaw Walendziak, TVP CEO in 1994 under the joint umbrella brand TVP Regionalna having a common appearance for promising kept as the introduction of several regional programs. Although series and feature films have already been shown, had the program with a lot of culture and sports a strong relation to regional events, even in the national coat program. Under the name TVP3 the former station was developed into a full program of entertainment and feature films, regional content were limited largely to the program window of the regional studios. The regional windows were also retained as a news channel TVP Info when the transmitter tag.

TVP3 and succession transmitter

In March 2002, the existing regional program was expanded to a full program with the emphasis on news and current affairs with regional program windows from the regional studios. It was developed together with international films and television series for the third main program of the Polish Television, which also found expression in the name. In the following years a number of special-interest channels were established for competitive reasons. This led in October 2007 on the establishment of the successor to TVP Info.

TVP Info window programs led the regional further and rendered on Astra regional broadcasts from Warsaw. In September 2013 were the new program TVP Regionalna created a new regional program and outsourced the regional broadcasts from TVP info there.

Since the end of TVP3 the concept of a third main program was abandoned, the division TVP Info and today's TVP Regionalna are only limited to be regarded as successor programs, even if TVP Info has taken over the receive paths and infrastructure and with today's TVP Regionalna the original concept of a nationwide regionalized program was revived.

Reception

The program was initially, like the rest of the Polish TV station, terrestrial and analogue broadcast in SECAM and PAL later in the cable. It was followed by the satellite broadcasting via Hot Bird and the program windows from Warsaw via Astra, where only parts of the program have been encrypted. About Cyfra and n the program was encrypted throughout. About this reception paths solved TVP Info, the program finally starting even before the switchover to DVB -T.
