Twickenham Stadium is located in London's Twickenham ( suburb of Richmond upon Thames ). It is equipped with a capacity of 82,000 seats in front of the Olympic Stadium London and behind the new Wembley Stadium, the second largest stadium in England. Twickenham is the home of English Rugby Union Rugby Football Union ( RFU) and is used for international matches of the English rugby union national teams. In addition, here the final of the Guinness Premiership as well as individual games in EDF Energy Cup and the Heineken Cup and the IRB Sevens World Series tournaments will be held. The stadium is also the site of the Rugby Museum.

History

After sold internationals against the All Blacks and the Springboks in Crystal Palace, the RFU recognized the benefit of its own stadium. The Association acquired in 1907 in Twickenham for 5572 pounds and 12 shillings a ½ 10 ¼ acres of beautiful grounds on which carbon had been grown previously.
