Two-step (dance move)

The two-step ( step change ) is a partner dance that is popular in the southern United States and is danced to faster Cajun music. It is similar to the polka and includes figures that have found the entrance to the disco fox.

The Two Step is also one of the original rhythms in the Round Dance. It is based on the 4/4-time and is usually danced at 32 to 44 cycles per minute, sometimes even faster. The basic rhythm is quick-quick -slow. There are but it also figures in the rhythm quick-quick - quick-quick -slow or slow and combinations.

Examples of the different rhythms:
