Ty Rattie

Ty Rattie (born 5 February 1993 Airdrie, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who plays in the position of right winger for the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League since 2009.

Career

Ty Rattie was ( WHL) in the first round, second overall position in May 2008, when the Western Hockey League Bantam Draft - behind Ryan Nugent -Hopkins - selected by the Portland Winter Hawks. The winger then received a few more games for unterklassige junior teams and moved late in the 2008 /09 WHL season in the cadre of Winter Hawks on. In the following season, Rattie scored as WHL rookie in the regular season 37 points scorer in 61 games, and four more points in 13 playoff games before the Winter Hawks in the second play-off round of the Vancouver Giants subject.

In the WHL season 2010/11 reached Rattie with the Portland Winter Hawks, the WHL finals for the Ed Chynoweth Cup, in which he claimed five games of the best- of-seven series, the Kootenay Ice had to concede defeat with his team. A little later he chose the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League ( NHL) NHL Entry Draft in 2011 with its first franchise in the second round at 32nd position. After Ty Rattie had not been nominated for the Blues squad for the NHL season 2011/12, he was sent to further its development back to the Winter Hawks in the WHL. In November 2011 he was elected to the WHL Player of the Month after he had scored in the eleven games of the Winter Hawks this month 16 goals and 28 total points scorer. In total, Rattie in the WHL season 2011/ 12 121 points scorer in 69 games. He was the third best scorer of the Western Hockey League, as well as the most successful points scorer of the Winter Hawks. In the play-offs this season, the Portland Winter Hawks as he reached in the pre-season WHL Finals, where they the Edmonton Oil Kings defeated in the seventh game of the best- of-seven series. Ty Rattie get there in 21 play-off inserts 19 goals and 33 points. He was behind teammate Sven Baertschi 's second best scorer in the league.

On 1 June 2012, wrote Rattie an entry contract with the St. Louis Blues. In the 2012/13 WHL season scoring Rattie 110 points scorer and was behind his teammate Brendan Leipsic and Nicolas Petan ( per 120) the third-best scorer of the WHL. Rattie reached with the Winter Hawks for the third time in a row the WHL finals and met as last season on the Edmonton Oil Kings, they could beat 4-2 games. Ty Rattie get there in 21 play-off games 20 goals and 16 assists, which he was awarded following the final as the most valuable player of the playoffs. By winning the Ed Chynoweth Cup, the Portland Winter Hawks earned a participation in the Memorial Cup in 2013, where they were subject to the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League until the final. Following the season the right shooter was chosen All- Star team in the WHL West Second All- Star team and in the Memorial Cup. Ty Rattie finished his WHL career with 50 play-off gates as the most successful play-off scorer in the Western Hockey League all time. The previous record held Mark Pederson, who scored 1985-1988 47 play-off matches.

Internationally

Rattie represented his native country for the first time at an international tournament at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge in 2010, when he completed five games for Team Canada Pacific, scoring nine points scorer. In the U20 World Youth Championship in 2013, he reached the fourth place with the Canadian National Team.
