Tychicus

Tychicus is mentioned in the New Testament before Christ. It takes place there as a companion of the Apostle Paul.

The Book of Acts ( Acts 20:4 EU) reported that the home of Tychicus was the province of Asia. The site also documents that Tychicus accompanied Paul on his third missionary journey. That Tychicus was a close associate of Paul, is by the mention of Tychicus to the Colossians (Col. 4.7 EU), in Ephesians ( Eph 6.21 EU), in the second letter to Timothy (2 Tim 4,12 EU) and Titus ( Tit 3,12 EU) occupied. The Colossians and the Ephesians has itself delivered to the appropriate Christian communities Tychicus. Also in Rome was Tychicus, Paul 's " dear brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord" calls on its side.

Over the subsequent fate of Tychicus, nothing certain is known. However, several cities claim him as one of its early bishops, as chalcedony, colophon and the Cyprus Neapolis. Tychicus is venerated as a saint; His feast day is April 29.
