Tyler Beechey

Tyler Beechey ( born June 5, 1981 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played from 2013 for the Schwenningen Wild Wings in the German Ice Hockey League.

Career

Beechey began his career in 1997 in the Canadian Junior Football League WHL and stood there for Edmonton Ice, the Kootenay Ice and the Calgary Hitmen on the ice. Although he showed attractive performances and in his last season even could be the leagues top scorer, he was drafted by any team from the National Hockey League.

His first professional contract signed winger for the 2002/03 season with the Trenton Titans in the East Coast Hockey League, where he played with his former team- mate Paul Traynor and also to some stakes in the American Hockey League came at the Providence Bruins. Further stations were the ECHL Pensacola Ice Pilots, as well as in the AHL St. John 's Maple Leafs. The 2005/ 06 spent Beechey finally complete in the AHL with the Toronto Marlies. At the beginning of the next season of Canadians played briefly for the Manitoba Moose, but switched in November for the EHC Visp in the Swiss National League B, where he was able to achieve 19 goals and 19 assists in 27 games.

The Iserlohn Roosters took Beechey in the initial phase of the 2007/ 08 first as a try-out players under contract. After just three days of the test phase of the striker but was licensed and received an annual contract, which was extended early after convincing performances until 2009. While Beechey in his first season showed excellent performance in an attack-minded team, because he could in his second season, even through injuries caused, not able to go. The Roosters did not renew his contract, so the striker signed in the summer of 2009 at the Augsburg Panthers. In summer 2010, he signed a one-year contract with the DEG Metro Stars, after he had signed a contract with the Frankfurt Lions, but these were not licensed in the DEL. After two years in Dusseldorf Beechey moved in June 2012 to league rivals Straubing Tigers. With the Tigers, he missed during the 2012/13 season due to various injuries the majority of the games. Given its susceptibility to injury and the fact that his position on another player type was missing - the Tigers committed in his place with Eric Beaudoin a big, strong center - not the Tigers extended the contract of Beechey.

On 31 July 2013, the Schwenningen Wild Wings announced the signing of Beechey, where he signed a one year contract. The Wild Wings are Beechey's fifth station in the DEL.
