Tyler Farrar ( born June 2, 1984 in Wenatchee, Washington) is an American professional road bicycle racer. Farrar applies in addition to Mark Cavendish and Andre Greipel as one of the world's top sprinters in road cycling.

Farrar began his career in 2003 at Jelly Belly. A year later he moved to Health Net and he was successful. In 2004 he was U.S. champion and won the U23 class, as in 2005, a stage of the Tour de l' Avenir. A season later he was then Criterium Champion of the states and got a contract from 2006 with Cofidis.

Since 2008, Farrar riding for the American team Garmin -Transitions. There he developed into one of the now world best sprinters in road cycling. His greatest achievements include two victories in the Vattenfall cyclassics 2009 and 2010, as well as stage wins at the Vuelta a España, the Giro d' Italia and the Tour de France.

During the 2011 Giro d'Italia Farrar got out after the neutralized fourth stage of the Tour. This was due to the accidental death of his best friend Wouter Weylandt of Leopard Trek team at the third stage.
