Tyler Seguin

Tyler Seguin ( born January 31, 1992 Brampton, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since June 2013 with the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Tyler Seguin was selected ninth overall in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Plymouth Whalers. In the season 2008/ 09 he played his first season for the team. After initial difficulties with only one goal in the first 17 games and a coaching change Seguin flourished, scoring 58 points in the remaining 41 games.

In his second season in the Ontario Hockey League Seguin started famously, he scored 36 points in just 18 games. As a result, he was placed by the NHL Central Scouting Service in November 2009 in first place for the NHL Entry Draft in 2010. In fact, he was elected in the summer behind Taylor Hall second overall by the Boston Bruins. With Hall he shared the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy as the best scorer of the regular season, both reached 106 points. In addition, he received the season, the Red Tilson Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the regular season.

On 9 October 2010 Seguin made ​​his debut in the National Hockey League for the Bruins against the Phoenix Coyotes. A day later, he scored his first goal in the NHL during the recent meeting with the Coyotes.

For the duration of the NHL lockout in the 2012/13 season, the striker has been committed by the Swiss club EHC Biel in September 2012. In July 2013 he was transferred together with Rich Peverley and Ryan Button in exchange for Loui Eriksson, Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith and Matt Fraser to the Dallas Stars.

Internationally

Seguin represented his country at the World U -17 Hockey Challenge in 2009 in Canada. He scored eleven points and was the second best scorer of the tournament. He also played in the same year Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.
