Tympanum (hand drum)

The tympanum was a circular, no doubt that time frame drum in Ancient Greece and in ancient Rome. It was drummed with his right hand and mostly used by women in the cult of Dionysus.

In originally from Phrygia, but later throughout the Roman Empire spread Cybele cult played a significant role in the tympanum.
