Tynaarlo
( Listen? / I ) tynaarlo is a municipality in the Netherlands, Drenthe province, with 32,453 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013). It forms the northern tip of the province, and is adjacent to Haren, Groningen. The city of Groningen is located 5 km north.

Local structure
The municipality was created in 1998 from the merger of three smaller communities: Eelde Vries and Zuidlaren. The municipality is located in Vries.

History and name
Drenthe, in the Middle Ages a possession of the Bishop of Utrecht, 1412 in six games thing ( court areas) was divided. These consisted of ever again from some " kerspels " ( parishes ): parishes.

Traffic
Between Tynaarlo and Zuidlaren (15 km from Groningen) is a small railway station on the line Groningen- Assen - Hoogeveen, Meppel. In Eelde and Yde there exits of highway Groningen- Assen - Zwolle. The airport lies in the municipality of Groningen, southeast of Eelde and Paterswolde.
In the community there are parts of two lakes: Paterswolde sea and Zuidlaardermeer sea.

Industry
