The Type 51B Luhai class is one of the more modern classes of destroyers of the Navy of the People's Republic of China ( PLAN). The class includes only one ship, the Shenzhen. The construction of the Shenzhen began in May 1996 in Dalian and 1998, she was put into service.

The Luhai class provides a much enlarged and improved version of the previous two destroyers Luhu class dar.
