Trnava is a municipality with 151 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Styria in the extreme northeast of the district Graz-Umgebung. From 1 January 2015 it is affiliated under the Styrian municipality structural reform with the communities Fladnitz at the Teichalp and Tulwitz, the new community will be called " Fladnitz at the Teichalp ".

Geography

Geographical Location

Trnava is located in the Grazer Bergland about 25 km north of the provincial capital of Graz. It is located in the rear Geschwendt Valley and is about 1,000 meters surrounded by many mountains ( clockwise starting in the West): Red Wall ( 1,505 m), Schweinegg ( 1,457 m), Gerlerkogel ( 1,324 m), wild mountain ( 1,288 m), Gscheidberg ( 1,240 m), Sulberg ( 1,094 m) and Gschieskogel ( 1,142 m).

Sports

Trnava is touristy closely connected with the neighboring Fladnitz. The community offers numerous walking and hiking trails as well as the opportunity for cycling, Nordic walking and climbing. In winter, cross-country trails and a toboggan run in the district Nechnitz are available.

Trnava belongs to the region alpine country.

Traffic

Trnava is located off the main roads. The municipality only has road links to Schrems at Frohnleiten, Fladnitz at the Teichalp and after Tulwitz. The Rechbergstraße ( B 64 ) is about 6 km away, the Brucker Straße ( S 35 ) about 9 km.

In Trnava there is no train station. The nearest train station is in Frohnleiten in approximately 9 km away and provides access to the southern runway with hourly regional train connections to Graz, Bruck an der Mur.

Graz Airport is about 50 km away.

Coat of arms

The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 February 1985. Coat Description: green lace details silver shield a black Capricorn, the board with silver fir twigs covered.
