The Tyrolean Hound is one of the FCI ( No. 68, Gr. 6, sec 1.2) acknowledged Austrian breed of dog.

Origin and History

The Tiroler Bracke comes, like all breeds brackish, probably from the Celtic Hound from. Dogs of this type should have been used Maximilian I in 1500 for hunting. Around 1860 they began in Tyrol, the purebreds, 1896, a standard was created and in 1908 it was officially recognized.

Description

Dense double coat with undercoat and a size up to 50 cm, with a weight of up to 22 kg flag this dog. There are two color varieties of the breed:

  • Red Beat: Red, deer red or reddish yellow.
  • Black Red shock: Black coat or saddle with red usually not sharply defined fire on the legs, chest, abdomen and head.

The ears are medium in size, broad, high, rounded down.

In both varieties, white markings are allowed on the chest and paws.
