Tyson Nash

Tyson Nash ( born May 11, 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played for the St. Louis Blues and Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and was a famous grinder and penalty killer. Currently he works as a sports commentator for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Career

Tyson Nash began his career in 1990 at the Sherwood Park Flyers, a year later he went to the Kamloops Blazers in the Western Hockey League. In his first season he won with the team once the President's Cup and Memorial Cup. In the seasons 1993/94 and 1994/95 he won with the Kamloops Blazers still two more times the President's Cup and Memorial Cup. NHL Entry Draft 1994, he was drafted in the tenth round of the Vancouver Canucks. Nash raised his scoring every year and had 1994/95 his best season with 84 games and 92 points. In his last season with the Kamloops Blazers, he played together with Darcy Tucker, Hnat Scandella, Shane Doan, Jarome Iginla, Brad Lukowich, Jason Holland and Nolan Baumgartner.

In the season 1995/96 he did not make the leap to the squad of the Vancouver Canucks and played with the Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League and the Raleigh IceCaps in the ECHL. The following season he played completely with the Syracuse Crunch and Nash increased its previous values ​​significantly. In the 1997/98 season he set his career record with 184 penalty minutes during the regular season. On 14 July 1998 he signed a contract with the St. Louis Blues. In the season 1998/99 he made his debut in the National Hockey League for the Blues, but almost the whole season he played for the Worcester IceCats in the AHL, where he won a regular place. A year later, Nash made ​​his final breakthrough in St. Louis and won a place in the team, a position he held for four years. In June 2003 he was transferred to the Phoenix Coyotes.

There, too, he was one of the key players of the team, he scored fewer points than before in St. Louis. For the 2004/ 05 season he set out from the game, as the entire season was canceled due to a lockout. After that, he still played a season with the Phoenix Coyotes. In November 2006 he was transferred to the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he played the entire season in the farm team for the Toronto Marlies. For the season 2007/ 08 he decided his career with the Nippon Paper Cranes continue in Japan, where he signed a contract. After a few games in the Asia League Ice Hockey Tyson Nash decided to end his career.
