U-boat Front Clasp

The U-boat front clasp was instituted on 15 May 1944 by the Commander in Chief of the Navy Admiral Karl Doenitz in bronze and on 24 November 1944 in silver.

She could be awarded to all crew members of submarines, which have proven themselves in the front.

Consisting of fine zinc elongated clasp consists of a center piece, a scaled down version of the U- boat War Badge (1939 ), the laurel wreath is covered below with two crossed swords. Left and right of the center piece are six slightly above the other shifted oak leaves. The back of the clasp smooth.

The brace was worn directly on the Order buckle on the left chest.

According to the law on titles, medals and decorations of 26 July 1957, the wearing of the award in the version of the Third Reich in the Federal Republic of Germany is only permitted without Nazi emblems.
