U-NII
U- NII stands for Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure. It is the U.S. name for the license-free frequency band in the 5 GHz range. This range is divided into three sub-bands of 100 MHz:
- 5:15 to 5:25 GHz
- 5:25 to 5:35 GHz
- 5725-5825 GHz
The most famous user of the U- NII band is the WLAN standard 802.11a or 802.11h.
