The U.S. Bank Tower is a 73 - story skyscraper in Los Angeles.

Description

The building is the tallest building in Los Angeles, California and the West Coast of the United States and the 11- highest in the United States. The 310 meter-high skyscraper was built in the years 1987 to 1989 as First Interstate World Center and is designed as one of the few skyscrapers in the frequently hit by earthquakes metropolis on earthquake safety. He is said to withstand earthquakes up to a magnitude of 8.3 on the Richter scale.

The cost of the building amounted to 350 million U.S. dollars. It was designed by the architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners.

Since then, the building was the original owner, the First Interstate Bank of the United States merged with Wells Fargo Bank also known as Library Tower, as it is considered part of the construction of new plants in the Los Angeles Central Library. In March 2003, U.S. Bancorp acquired the building, from then on it was called U.S. Bank Tower.

Above the 73 floors is on the roof of the highest building located on a helipad. Also on the roof there are two 23 -meter-high, illuminated logos of U.S. Bancorp.

Terrorist attack plans in 2002

The then president George W. Bush announced on 9 February 2006 that the terrorist organization Al- Qaeda had planned a stop in an airplane on the U.S. Bank Tower, similar to September 11, 2001 on New York's World Trade Center.
