UCI Track Cycling World Cup

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup comprises three to five World Cup races per season and takes place during the winter months.

The UCI Track Cycling World Cup was Cycliste from the International Cycling Union Union Internationale (UCI ) introduced in 1993 to counter the creeping loss of popularity of the track cycling and the associated threat of reducing the number of Olympic cycling disciplines by the IOC, but this was only limited. Another reason was the sporting appreciation of the track cycling and a useful addition to the popular six-day races, which are considered a good combination between sports and entertainment.

World Cup races are held in all disciplines of the web - Cycling World Championships for a period of three days (Friday- Sunday). From 2007/2008 will be held a total of nine men's and eight women's events; from the 2010/2011 season ten men and eight women's betting advertising. Newly added to the program has been adapted to the Olympic program, the Omnium.

Rules

  • 500 m time trial
  • Sprint
  • 3000 -meter individual pursuit,
  • 3000m Team Pursuit ( from 2007/ 08)
  • Keirin
  • Team Sprint
  • 20 -km points race
  • 10 km Scratch

It will be awarded 12-1 points for the ten best drivers in all competitions, both the World Cup team or incorporated into the country standings as well as in the overall individual classification by adding the individual results of all World Cup races of the season.

The number of contracts to be World Cup points is the same in all competitions, and does not differ according to their importance. Determining the winner in the individual disciplines are statically defined in the regulations of UCI and corresponds in principle to the Regulations for train - Cycling World Championships.

At the competitions of the UCI Track Cycling World Cup take the driver's part as members of teams or UCI track team.

Venues

World Cup races will be awarded by the UCI for at least two years at the candidate cities. At least 50 percent of the sweeps should be held in Europe. Since 2003 were: Sydney, Moscow, Copenhagen, Cali, Manchester, Los Angeles, Cape Town, Aguascalientes, Melbourne and Beijing.
