UD Pájara Playas de Jandía

UD Pajara Playas de Jandia is a Spanish football club based in Fuerteventura, the current in the fourth division Tercera División (Group 12) plays. The team name refers to the beaches of Jandia. When the club in summer 2011 salary claims of former players could not follow, a relegation to the league Preferente de Las Palmas was enacted by the Spanish Federation. Thereafter, the Executive Board decided to disband the club.

History

The club was formed in the summer of 1996 from the merger of several predecessor clubs that were located in the large village in the south of Fuerteventura Pajara. Already after the first season succeeded in 1997 promotion to the Segunda División B third-rate, which since belongs to the club without interruption. The greatest success of the club's history was the 2nd place in the season 2003/04.

Stadium

Since the 2008/ 09 season, the club plays in the Campo Municipal de Costa Calma. The stadium is located in the tourist center of Costa Calma, has a capacity of 1,000 spectators and is equipped with an artificial pitch. By 2008 the club wore out its home games at the Estadio Benito Alonso in La Pared.
