Udayadityavarman II.

Udayadityavarman II was 1050-1066 King of the Khmer Empire of Angkor.

Udayadityavarman followed Suryavarman I. to the throne, but was not his son, but came from the line of the wife of King Yasovarman I (reigned 899-910 ). He hung the Saivism and built the Baphuon temple to honor the god Shiva, but are also some sculptures dedicated to the Buddha. Even the Western Baray (water reservoir ) in Angkor Thom he let finish and built the West Mebon, an artificial island in the center of the baray. The temple Sdok Kak Thom near present-day Aranyaprathet in Thailand's Sa Kaeo province also dates from his reign. Here an extensive inscription was found which represents the sequence of the reign of the Khmer kings. The stele is now in the National Museum Bangkok.

During the reign of Udayadityavarman numerous revolts were put down, mainly through its General Sangrama. His successor was Harshavarman III.
