Udder

As udder (Latin Uber, rarely also called mom ), the seated groin female ungulates organ called, is home to the mainly milk glands ( alveoli ). It provides, as the teats of other mammals, including the female breast of man, the offspring in the first life with food - milk. The mammary glands enter only after a pregnancy milk (see also lactation ).

Especially the milk of the domestic cow and various other livestock species (eg domestic goat, domestic sheep ), is used as food for humans. The dairy cow is milked by hand or machine. In some regions, the udder is considered food and is prepared accordingly. More famous specialty is the Kuheuterschnitzel.
