Udo Hempel

Udo Hempel ( born November 3, 1946 in Dusseldorf Flingern ) is a former German cyclist and train coach. Among his greatest sporting achievements include the gold medal in the four-man team pursuit at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich and the silver medal at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico.

Since the end of his sporting career Hempel has worked as a management consultant and organizer and patron of various cycling events such as the " SixDayNight " on the velodrome in Büttgen. In 2005, he was Ambassador of the World Games in Duisburg.
