Udo Quellmalz

Udo Guenther " source " Quellmalz ( born March 8, 1967 in Leipzig ) is a German judoka.

Quellmalz began in 1975 with the judo sport and attended from the age of 14, the Children and Youth Sports School in Leipzig. He wears the 7th Dan. In 1984 he was European champion of the age group U21. At the Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta in 1996, the athlete of the MTV Ingolstadt won the gold medal in the half- light weight to 65 kg. Quellmalz was also two -time world champion (1991 in Barcelona and 1995 in Japan).

Quellmalz has a university degree in physical education teacher at the University of Leipzig and is also trained in wholesale and foreign trade merchant. He ended his active career in 1998 and worked for six years as sports director and coach for the British Judo Association. For the Austrian Judo Federation, he was hired as a coach at the Austrian Judo Federation in 2007 as a technology trainer and from 2009 to 2012 and took care of this particularly around Ludwig Paischer and Sabrina Filzmoser. After the end of his contract with the ÖJV it moved Quellmalz professional reasons to Qatar, where he has worked as a sports teacher.
