Ueli Steiger

Ulrich " Ueli " Steiger (* August 5, 1954 in Zurich ) is a Swiss cameraman.

Life

The international cinematographer Ueli Steiger studied English and Art History at the University of Zurich and changed following the London Film School. After working as a freelance camera assistant and documentary filmmaker in Switzerland, he turned in 1981 with director Michael Hoffman his first feature film " Privileged " in England. With the camera in Hoffman's " Promised Land " (1986) he summed up in the U.S. foot. Then moved to Los Angeles Steiger and worked with directors such as Dennis Hopper, Frank Oz, Cameron Crowe and Roland Emmerich.

His works cover a wide range of comedies, dramas, action and visual effects films for independent films to Hollywood blockbusters as 10,000 BC. Among other things, he made The Day After Tomorrow, The Hot Spot, Bowfinger, Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me, Godzilla (1998), Rock Star and the Brazilian blockbuster Nosso Lar (selection).
