The local council in Uersfeld consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 in a proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Coat of arms

Shared " sign, split up; : The coat of arms description reads up front in a silver green windmill, back in a black silver cross bar, topped with two obliquely crossed Glevestäben, the rods gold, the lilies are red; below in red one diagonally left, silver crosier, topped with a silver wolf sighted lying backwards ".

In earlier times a windmill stood near the present-day sports field. The black cross indicates the Electorate of Cologne. The Glevenstäbe derived from the seal of John of Husener from Uersfeld, of there in 14-15. Century lived as an imperial notary. Staff and Wolf are the symbols of the church's patron saint St. Remacle.
