Ugo Gregoretti

Ugo Gregoretti ( born September 28, 1930 in Rome ) is an Italian documentary filmmaker, film director and screenwriter.

Life

Gregoretti began in 1953 with the work for RAI, where he prepared especially political and soziele issues and was known in 1960 with the heading " Controfagotto " in which he mixed reportage and fiction. In the documentary field territory he also entered in 1968 with the unkonformistisch staged Il circolo Pickwick, which until the mid- 1990s, numerous works with political issues such as the Vietnam War, the Roman fascism or communism, he was close and private, followed, also received cinema inserts.

From 1985 to 1989 Gregoretti was head of the theater "Stabile di Torino " where he staged mainly lyrical works. Occasionally he undertook, especially in the 1960s, trips to the feature film. His most famous work, should be instrumental satire Doctor, the corpse is alive, to which he also contributed the screenplay as with his other films. 1989 came after a long break of playing in the opera world Maggio musicale.

In the 1980s Gregoretti perceived also some offers as an actor. In 2010 he was awarded the honorary prize of the Italian Film Journalists.
